Augmented reality: No longer just an engineering pipedream

Rather than still being an uncertain future possibility, augmented reality (AR) is already here and being integrated into processes that assist engineers in their jobs.

Engineers are implementing augmented reality (AR) across disciplines to streamline production, enhance safety and oversight, and share vital information.

Giada Volpin, Global Product Manager at ABB, welcomed create for an inside look at how the company places AR and VR tools at the centre of its work. She said that technology has moved extremely fast in recent years.

“An infinite number of startups is now working on VR and AR,” Volpin said. “Today, the technology and expertise are incredibly more accessible.”
