Engineers Australia launches a new website to help raise the profile of engineering

As Engineers Australia moves to raise the profile of engineering, a new website launching early next week will make it easier for engineers to access information and resources, and for the public to learn more about the profession.

Following extensive user research, which included members, non-members, Engineers Australia volunteers and employees, Engineers Australia recognised the need for a mobile responsive website with improved search functionality.

It is a move that better reflects Engineers Australia’s values, particularly as members and non-members come to the website for migration assessment, credentialing and upskilling. The new information pathways will empower members and non-members to find essential information in fewer clicks.

“The Engineers Australia website acts as the “front door” to Engineers Australia,” says Nada Jolic, General Manager, Brand, Marketing and Communications at Engineers Australia. “As we work towards raising the profile and understanding of the engineering profession across the nation, our “front door” needs to be welcoming.”

As Engineers Australia continues to advocate for the industry, the website will act as a gateway to support the talent of engineers now and into the future with improved access to resources, guidance and opportunities. The website has been designed to reduce the time visitors spend searching for information and instead spend more time learning.

The improvements to the Engineers Australia website will:

  • Enhance navigation with a single menu accessible from the homepage
  • Personalise most searched for content
  • Offer new step-by-step guides and video resources for registration, skills assessment or Chartered status
  • Offer a new central resource library with filter options
  • Enhance accessibility with clear language

Jolic says: “While we are excited to launch a brand-new website, we want to reassure our members that the member portal is staying the same.”

“This means updating  your Engineers Australia profile, renewing your membership, logging CPD hours and requirements, or applying to join one of our technical societies will not change.”

The news of a new website comes off the back of a variety of Engineers Australia announcements, including the appointment of Romilly Madew AO HonFIEAust as the organisation’s new CEO
