In a new video, Australian high schoolers discuss with a leading water engineer what they think engineers do and what role engineering plays in their future.
The engineering students at Penrith Selective High School are switched on and ready to soar.
When create heard from them prior to the start of HSC examinations, they shared a strong desire to embrace the possibilities presented by a career in the profession.
One student, Oliver, said engineering is “about developing the world, and it affects everyone. I really aligned with that. I want to help people as a career.”
Meanwhile, Hazel admitted that “even still today, I’m learning that there are so many different [engineering] fields that I just didn’t know were out there.”
In the video below, the students ask Aurecon water engineer Sally Williamson about the work she does, how engineering is adapting to the times, and the ideas the students have for the future of engineering.
